About Dr. Vines
Dr. Charlotte M. Vines joined the faculty of The University of Texas at El Paso in 2013 as an Assistant Professor. She is passionate about mentoring students as they explore future careers in the medical and health professions.
Academic and Professional Background
Dr. Vines earned her Ph.D. and completed postdoctoral training at medical schools, focusing her career on biomedical research and education. Before joining UTEP, she served as a faculty member at the University of Kansas Medical School, where she also contributed to the admissions committee. Currently, she serves on the Graduate School Admissions Committee in Biomedical Sciences at UTEP.
Research Interests
Her laboratory specializes in Immunology, with a focus on investigating the diverse homeostatic and pathogenic functions of T cells. Through this work, she contributes to advancing the understanding of immune system regulation and disease.
Role with MPO
As Faculty Advisor for the Medical Professions Organization, Dr. Vines provides guidance, shares her expertise in research and admissions, and supports students in their professional and academic development.
